Rotherham Opposition View: “I would take Haks back in a heartbeat”
On Saturday Kenilworth Road and Luton Town will host the visit of League One’s in-form side, Rotherham United. Matthew Hamshaw’s men are unbeaten in their last six league games and, like Luton, won their last game 3-0.
Jack Wilshere will be looking to continue the positive momentum he has overseen to continue rising up the table and keep the positive feeling going.
To get the Millers’ perspective we spoke to New York Talk.
1. What has contributed to Rotherham’s recent run of form?
Patience, we wernt playing that bad in our poor form. We just weren’t very efficient with our chances and seemed to lack confidence. We aren’t playing massively better, just taking more shots and being that little bit more aggressive in attack.
2. Who are Rotherham’s three standout players this season?
Denzel hall is my standout out so far. He is our joint top scorer which is impressive for a right wingback. For a Dutchman, he is very English. Very aggressive in the tackle but love finding himself at the top end of the pitch.

Sam Nombe is also joint top scorer which is again impressive as he has only played about 5 league games due to injury. And my final mention is for Hamish Douglas. He has played the last 4 games and has been brilliant. But of a battering ram of a centre half, but full of heart.
3. How would you describe your style of play under Hamshaw?
It is still evolving I think. I think he would like us to be more of a footballing team. But we can’t due to a few reasons that I won’t bore you all with. But you will see a team that should be difficult to beat and that won’t quit. We aren’t particularly a long ball team but will use Nombe running into the channels to get us up the pitch. Don’t expect a pretty game of football.
4. Which Luton player would you most like at Rotherham?
Haks, I would take Haks back in a heartbeat. A all round brilliant man and footballer. He was the heart of our team for 2 years and I wish him nothing but the best, except on Saturday.

What are your expectations for the game?
I expect it to be a bit of a battle. We won’t be to attacking to start with. Expect we will try and keep it close and attack late on.
Score prediction: I have to back us in our current form, I will go with 1-1.
