Dull or delightful season for Dion?

After an impressive pre-season, Luton fans are waiting patiently to see Nathan Jones' plans with youngster Dion Periera for the 22/23 campaign ahead.

After joining from Atlanta United two years ago, the former Watford man has embarked on two loans. One at Yeovil Town where he only featured once due to circumstances with fatigue and injury. However, later on he went back out to league two where he joined Bradford City. Fans of the League Two outfit have fallen in love with him since, and many have expressed their hope for him to return on social media.

Bantams chief Mark Hughes has even expressed an interest in taking the young winger back on another loan move or even a permanent basis. The Hatters may even opt to keep hold of Periera after a promising pre-season. They may even choose to loan him out to a club in League One after he has proved his worth at the level of League Two.

However, the step up between the Championship and League Two may prove to be too big of a step for the 23-year-old. And with the arrival of two new attackers - Carlton Morris and Cauley Woodrow from Barnsley - Jones may not need or have room yet for Periera.

Periera travelled with the squad abroad to Slovenia and featured in both friendlies in England. Scoring in Slovenia and winning a penalty against Gillingham, he left many players on their backside and chasing the silky skilled youngster down the pitch. With two pre-season games to go, fans may hear Nathan Jones' intentions with Periera before then.

With tough competition and high expectations in his training camp, Jones will want the best for his side and players, so he will want the best not just for Periera but any other player who may not get as much game time this season. Josh Neufville is already one youngster to have been sent out on loan. Is it just a matter of time before more are temporarily offloaded?

Leaving fans with the question of whether it will be a dull or delightful season for Dion. Hopefully, for the sake of both the player and the Luton fanbase, the young player can have his breakthrough season and show off his technical ability and skills on the pitch.
