Luton Town transfer rumour tracker: Poole and Porteous

The January transfer window is now a mere month away and Luton Town will be hoping to strengthen for what is expected to be another push for the promotion places.

With much of the work being done in the summer, there are a couple of areas on the pitch that may need bolstering, whilst the Hatters have proven to have a proactive approach when it comes to recruiting youth.

Here, we look at the latest transfer rumours involving the Hatters as the window edges closer to its opening…

Regan Poole

Lincoln City centre-back Regan Poole is on the Luton radar, as detailed in a report from Football League World.

The 24-year-old, who is a right-back by trade has proven to be an extremely important and versatile option for the Imps in recent months, stepping into a central defensive role.

The Hatters are not the only Championship club involved in his pursuit, with the same report claiming that Blackpool, Cardiff City, Huddersfield Town, Millwall and QPR are also keeping a close eye on the defender ahead of the opening of the January transfer window.

Ryan Porteous

As mentioned before in a previous transfer tracker, Luton are considering a move for Hibernian defender Ryan Porteous, as per a report from the Daily Record.

The Scottish outlet also claimed that Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke City are keeping an eye on the progress of the 23-year-old.

However, the latest development in Porteous’ future at Easter Road is that the club have confirmed that he will not be signing a new deal at Hibs.

Harrison Brook

Luton have often found success when looking in the lower leagues for talent and they are currently monitoring the progress of AFC Portchester striker Harrison Brook.

The talented attacker has netted nine goals and has provided five assists in 16 games for the Wessex Football League club, which is the ninth tier of English football.

A report from Portsmouth-based outlet The News has claimed that the Hatters and Cheltenham Town have been watching the 19-year-old in recent weeks.
