ORH welcomes Luke Walsh

A second big welcome of the afternoon to Luke Walsh who is the second of the recruits at ORH. Here, Luke reflects on some Luton-related memories in his first write-up, whilst looking ahead to the new Championship campaign...

First LTFC game?

Morecambe at home in 2017. Never got to go to Kenilworth Road growing up, so my now fiancee (wife to be) took me to my first game. Won 3-1. Insane atmosphere. I knew I was amongst my people after that.

Favourite LTFC memory?

WINNING LEAGUE ONE. Having spent years following Luton through non league and up through League Two and League One, the elation that I felt when we gained promotion to the Championship, where we belong, was insane. A memory that will always stay with me.

Favourite LTFC goal?

Kal Naismith vs AFC Bournemouth. Injury Time, Luton pressing the League Leaders to the limit and then Naismith turned. took the ball and could not have placed it anywhere else. The ground came alive. It was immense. It wasn't little old Luton. It was LUTON TOWN being the underdog.

Favourite LTFC away day?

Never been...arrest me, I'm a criminal. I want to get on the road but I need my life to adjust.

Favourite current player?

Elijah Anuoluwapo Oluwaferanmi Oluwatomi Oluwalana Ayomikulehin Adebayo. It's one thing for Luton to bring in a player that had something special in the lower leagues to then step up and shine. It's another for him to then excel in his first season and then for him to be the superstar he was born to be. Elijah Adebayo reminds us that James Collins wasn't worth it.

Favourite past player?

Steve Howard. Back when we played in black and white and we were dynamite, I would idolise Howard. His leadership as well as his goals would just mesmerise me as a fan. Especially seeing him score vs Liverpool in 2006. Amazing.

One player you’d like to sign from Championship rivals for the 2022/23 season?

Jordan Rhodes. I know he's 32, but he's a player I've always rated highly over the years. I would love to see him come for a year. I think Jones could get a good season out of him and could help us improve up front.

Outlandish 2022/23 Luton prediction?

Isted fights his way to number 1. I think his impromptu performance vs Chelsea when Steer got injured five minutes in just highlighted what he can bring to the table. He has a lot to offer and when Sluga was with us, he was pushed down. But I can see Jones giving him more game time during the season.

2022/23 position prediction?

Fifth. I reckon we have it in us to be able to repeat our performances like last season and work our way back to the play-offs. We are good enough. We can do it. So let's believe and push on. COME ON YOU HATTERS!!
