Premier League club consider move for Luton Town defender

Luton Town defender James Bree is on the radar of Premier League club Fulham as they look to bolster their right-back options this January, as detailed in a report from the Daily Mail.

The report claims that Arsenal's Cedric Soares is their main target during this month of transfer activity, however, should they fail to agree a deal, Bree is someone they will cast their eyes over.

Bree has emerged as one of three Championship players who are currently being monitored by the London club, with academy star Max Aarons and Millwall's Danny McNamara also in the conversation.

Incredibly enough, the 25-year-old has played every minute of this second-tier campaign thus far, proving his versatility by filling the right-sided centre-back role amidst the defensive troubles the Hatters have had to contend with.

Despite his versatility being tested at various points of this season, the Luton defender ranks in at second when it comes to big chances created by any Championship player this season.

Initially arriving at Kenilworth Road on loan from Aston Villa ahead of Luton's return to the Championship, Bree penned down a permanent deal in Bedfordshire the following summer.

Appearing 140 times for the Hatters since his initial move back in the summer of 2019, Bree has two goals and 19 assists to his name during that time.

He has become a dependable figure at Kenilworth Road over the years and is very important to how the Hatters operate.

It is unknown how long of his contract he has left to serve, something that will dictate the kind of fee that would be touted should the Premier League club further their initial interest in the 25-year-old.
