Luton Town add Blackburn Rovers and Huddersfield Town pair to goalkeeping wish-list

Luton Town are looking to strengthen their goalkeeping department ahead of their first-ever season in the Premier League, with several names emerging on their wish-list thus far.

The Hatters have been linked with the likes of Everton's Asmir Begovic, Bournemouth's Mark Travers and Manchester United's Tom Heaton, as it would appear that Rob Edwards could welcome two new goalkeepers to Kenilworth Road.

Blackburn Rovers' Thomas Kaminski and Huddersfield Town's Lee Nicholls are the latest two names to be mentioned in association with the Bedfordshire club.

As per a Patreon report from journalist Alan Nixon, the Hatters are admirers of Blackburn's Belgian No.1, however, it has been suggested that the 30-year-old could cost around the £6 million mark.

Huddersfield's Nicholls, who emerged in the Championship Team of the Season during the 2021/22 campaign and also won the Yorkshire outfit's Player of the Season that year, is also being considered by the Luton hierarchy.

Both Kaminski and Nicholls are 30 years of age and managed 28 appearances during the 22/23 Championship season, with the former keeping 10 clean sheets and conceding 35 goals, whilst the latter earned eight clean sheets and conceded 33 goals.

The report claims that Begovic is 'set to sign' for the Bedfordshire club, meaning that if the Hatters continue their pursuit of either Championship goalkeeper, they will have to compete with the 35-year-old for regular football.

Nixon has also revealed that the Hatters opted to turn down the £1.5 million option they had to secure the permanent services of Ethan Horvath.
