Luton Town cast eyes over recently departed Aston Villa player

Luton Town have welcomed two fresh faces to Kenilworth Road ahead of their upcoming Premier League campaign, seeing Chiedozie Ogbene and Mads Andersen arrive from Rotherham United and Barnsley respectively.

There have also been several other names linked with a potential move to Kenilworth Road, with the names being mentioned in association with the Hatters showing that the club have eyes on all different markets.

The latest name that the Premier League newcomers reportedly have an interest in is former Aston Villa and Manchester United wide man Ashley Young.

According to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook, the experienced winger, who now operates as a full-back, is a player of interest to Rob Edwards and Co. following the expiration of his contract at Villa Park.

Young, who will be 38 on Sunday, has amassed over 400 appearances in the Premier League, spending several years at Manchester United, whilst he also spent time with Italian giants Inter Milan.

Of course, Young started his career at Watford and joined the Hertfordshire club's academy when he was 10, progressing through the academy ranks at Vicarage Road all the way through to first-team level, where he went on to play over 100 games.

Should Luton Town pursue a move for former Aston Villa and Manchester United wide man Ashley Young?

It would ultimately be a surprise if Young was to touch down at Kenilworth Road this summer but it is not a deal to completely write-off.

Born in Stevenage, and still having ties to the area, a move back to this part of the world could be part of his plans, whilst it would be interesting to see if there would be any other Premier League opportunities out there for him.

However, this is one that you would likely file under the 'unlikely moves' folder, with wage demands likely to be a stumbling block.
