Luton Town transfer rumour tracker: Part 5

The Premier League campaign is a little over a month away and Rob Edwards is currently in the process of assembling a squad at Luton Town that will be aiming to survive the drop.

As expected, rumours concerning the Hatters continue to fly as it remains to be seen how many new arrivals touch down at Kenilworth Road.

Here, is a round-up of the latest Luton-related transfer rumours...

Ben Pearson

AFC Bournemouth's Ben Pearson is on Rob Edwards' list as the Hatters look to bolster their midfield options, according to a report from Football Insider.

The 28-year-old has now entered the final 12 months of his deal at The Vitality Stadium and is being considered by the newest members of England's top-flight.

A holding midfielder by trade, the former Manchester United academy graduate enjoyed a successful loan spell with Stoke City last time out.

Ryan Mmaee (update)

Luton are set to face competition in their reported pursuit of Moroccan striker Ryan Mmaee, with a Football Insider report claiming that Preston North End have seen a loan bid for the 25-year-old rejected.

As detailed in the report, the Championship outfit have proposed a loan-to-buy deal that would see the Lilywhites possess the option to strike his permanent agreement at the end of the upcoming campaign for £3 million.

It was also Football Insider who revealed that the Hatters held an interest for the Ferencvaros forward last month.

Tahith Chong (update)

Tahith Chong remains firmly on Luton's list of targets, with a report from the Daily Mail claiming that the Hatters are in talks with Birmingham City, regarding the potential transfer of the 23-year-old.

Chong spent the 2021/22 Championship campaign on loan at St Andrew's, before making his switch to the Midlands club permanent last summer.

Chong penned down a four-year when he arrived late on during the last summer transfer window, meaning it is unlikely that Luton can secure the services of the 23-year-old for a favourable fee.

Ryan Manning

The Hatters have already made good use of the free agent market in bringing Chiedozie Ogbene to Kenilworth Road and they are reportedly keen on delving into that particular market again.

A report from The Sun has claimed that the Bedfordshire club hold an interest in the 27-year-old who is also being considered by the likes of Sheffield United and Southampton.

The Irish left-back enjoyed a very impressive 2022/23 Championship campaign and was named Swansea's Player of the Season.

Mads Andersen (update)

Luton are seemingly edging closer to confirming Mads Andersen as their second addition of the summer transfer window.

According to talkSPORT's Alex Crook, Andersen was booked in for a medical with the Hatters on Friday, ahead of arriving as the club's record signing.

The Danish centre-back enjoyed another impressive campaign with the Tykes and it is looking increasingly likely that he will be preparing for Premier League football.

Japhet Tanganga

Luton are reportedly consider a move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga, as revealed by journalist Ben Jacobs.

The 24-year-old managed just four league appearances for the North London club last time out and could be heading for the exit door this summer.

Jacobs has also suggested that Italian club Atalanta are also considering the centre-back.
