Predicted Luton Town starting XI for Burnley (a)

Luton Town return to Premier League action this Friday night as they make the trip up to fellow survival hopefuls Burnley, who have struggled to match the pre-season expectations laid out by the masses.

The Clarets currently sit in 19th position with 11 points from 20 games, four points below and a game ahead of the Hatters, and whilst Vincent Kompany will be disappointed with the points tally thus far, three points on Friday could be massive in launching an escape.

As for Rob Edwards and Co. three points will see the Hatters leapfrog Everton to land outside of the relegation places.

The stakes are high for both teams and subsequently, Friday's clash at Turf Moor has the potential to be a fantastic Premier League encounter.

Here, we take a look at how the Hatters could line up at Burnley...

Predicted Luton Town line-up:

Kaminski

Mengi, Osho, Bell

Doughty, Lokonga, Barkley, Giles

Townsend, Adebayo, Ogbene

Thomas Kaminski has played every single minute of Luton's Premier League campaign thus far and will likely feature in Luton's first league game of 2024.

With Mads Andersen returning to full fitness and Reece Burke potentially being available, Edwards may have options at his disposal, however, both Teden Mengi and Gabe Osho have been excellent over the last month or so, whilst Amari'i Bell has also impressed in patches.

Issa Kabore has now linked up with his Burkina Faso ahead of the African Cup of Nations, which could force Alfie Doughty over to right-wing-back and welcome Ryan Giles back into the starting XI.

With Marvelous Nakamba remaining unavailable, the midfield picks itself at the moment, with Sambi Lokonga and Ross Barkley the likely occupants of the two central midfield positions.

It has been confirmed that Jacob Brown will miss the fixture as he has now picked up a fifth booking of the campaign at Chelsea (four with Luton, one with Stoke City), meaning Chiedozie Ogbene could be brought back into the fray.

Andros Townsend should start on the right flank as he continue to impress in Luton colours, whilst Elijah Adebayo is likely to be named in the starting XI, that is despite Carlton Morris inflicting pressure on his strike partner from the last campaign.
