Who will start for Luton Town against Burnley?

Date: Tuesday 3rd October 2023

Kick-off: 7:30 pm (BST)

Venue: Kenilworth Road

Welcome back as we take another look at Oak Road Hatter's predicted lineup. For the first Tuesday night league game of the year, we have a massive game against fellow relegation contenders Burnley - a game where both sides will be looking to take all three points.

Team News and Oak Road Hatters Predicted XI:

Injury news: Clark, Osho, Potts.

In goal, we start with Thomas Kaminski. After some poor errors against West Ham and Fulham, he has looked assertive and steady in the net, conceding only the two goals, of which there was not much he could do for either. Specifically, the cross he claimed in the dying minute at Everton was exactly what we needed to take the pressure off and secure the first three points of the year.

Against Everton the three centre-halves were very mismatched, starting with Burke, Lockyer, and Bell; and ending up with Mengi, Andersen, and Bell. While the Burke and Lockyer changes were enforced, Edwards has declared them both fit for tonight's match. As a collective, we have decided on a back three of Lockyer (RCB), Andersen (CB), and Bell (LCB). While Burke has consistently been a 7/10 this year, every Luton fan knows of his injury issues and that we could do without another long-term centre-back absentee. However, this is not just down to injury, this is to the credit of Andersen who came on and produced a mammoth performance at the back against Everton. While Lockyer went off with an injury, if he can play, he plays. Bell in the past couple of games has returned to his form of last year, looking composed and bringing the ball out well. He retains his spot.

The rest of the lineup speaks for itself and remains unchanged. The two wing-backs were wonderful at Everton, Kabore (RWB) with some top-notch defensive work, and Doughty (LWB) creating a league-high 6 chances for that gameweek and an excellent all-round performance to go with it.

Nakamba (CM), who just seems to get better each week, and currently with a league-high 26 tackles is partnered by fan-favourite Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu (CM) who grew into the game well on Saturday. The front three of Brown (RW), Morris (ST), and Ogbene (LW) stay in place again for the third game running after causing Everton and Wolves all sorts of issues between them

Starting XI: Kaminski, Kabore, Lockyer, Andersen, Bell, Doughty, Nakamba, Pelly, Brown, Morris, Ogbene.
