Luton Town transfer rumour tracker: Part 4

With the Summer transfer window now in full swing, many clubs are starting to get deals done. For Luton however, there hasn't been lots of news regarding transfers, instead, it's off-the-pitch work surrounding the Bobbers stand that has taken the limelight as of now. But we did see Luke Berry sign a new contract today so does that mean more to come from the Hatters as they get prepared for life in the Premier League?

Here, is the latest round-up of Luton Town-related transfer rumours...

Emiliano Martinez

Recently, the Hatters have been linked with Emiliano Martinez of FC Midtjylland through a Danish source, the 23-year-old Uruguian defensive midfielder has gained interest from several Premier League sides including Luton, Everton and West Ham after an excellent season in Denmark.

Although it has been reported that Everton has made bids, it looks like West Ham have won the race for this one as news reports stated yesterday evening. Luton would've hoped to have brought in a new defensive midfielder alongside Nakamba who is likely to be announced this week, however, it appears that the Hammers can make a better offer and will be desperate to replace captain Declan Rice whose exit looks imminent this Summer.

Likelihood: 1/5

Paddy McNair

Luton Town are reportedly showing an interest in versatile Middlesbrough player Paddy McNair.

Football League World have claimed that the 28-year-old is a player of interest to the recruitment team at Kenilworth Road, as it remains to be seen how high up he ranks in the Premier League club's priority list. Check out our full report on this rumour here!

Likelihood: 3/5

Samuel Ntanda

The Hatters are reportedly showing an interest in multiple foreign players this summer, a Team Talk source suggests that they are eyeing up Sampdoria striker Samuel Ntanda. The Belgian youngster currently plays for the Sampdoria U19s but could one for the future for Luton.

However, the Hatters are not the only team in the race for the 17-year-old as a number of Premier League clubs and Anderlecht are hoping to get pen to paper. Ntanda scored seven goals and provided two assists for Sampdoria’s youth sides last season.

Sampdoria's relegation could mean that it is difficult for them to hold onto the talented youngster and Luton will look to offer a pathway into first-team football.

Likelihood: 2/5

Mads Andersen

It wouldn't be a proper Luton Town transfer window if the Hatters weren't linked or didn't buy one of Barnsley's players. Strong rumours have up rose recently that Luton are in talks with the Tykes captain Mads Andersen, here Football Insider gave the first update.

Anderson started 44 games for Barnsley in last seasons campaign and captained them to a play-off final alongside ex Hatter Harry Isted who just made the move to Charlton Athletic. The Danish centre back picked up a total of 17 clean sheets and even appeared in the team of the week three times over the course of the season.

If the Hatters could get pen to paper, he would be an excellent signing that would challenge his way into an already strong back line of Amari'i Bell, Gabe Osho and Tom Lockyer. Luton already have strong options in Reece Burke and Dan Potts but with their own captain Sonny Bradley departing, they will need to add another centre back to their rankings.

Likelihood: 4/5

Thomas Kaminski and Lee Nicholls

After rejecting the chance to sign Ethan Horvath after a promotion winning loan season, the Hatters need to add a goalkeeper to their squad. Reports from Alan Nixon have indicated that Luton are interested in two Championship goalkeepers in Blackburn's Thomas Kaminski and Huddersfield's Lee Nicholls.

Kaminski likelihood: 3/5

Nicholls likelihood: 2/5

Ryan Mmaee

Another source from Footy Insider suggests that Luton are considering a move for Ryan Mmaee of Ferencváros who play in the top flight of Hungarian football.

The 25 year old Moroccan International team forward has been eyed up by a number of clubs but Luton Town have apparently weighed up their options for the Belgian-born player after a successful season where he scored 13 goals and grabbed 4 assists in his 36 appearances.

It has been suggested that Luton are looking to add to their attacking threats for life in the Premier League and looking abroad could be a cheaper alternative as they can offer football in possibly the best league in the world now.

Likelihood: 2/5

Lewis Travis

Transfer rumours are being thrown around each day now that Luton are a top-flight side, and the latest to come through is links to the Blackburn captain Lewis Travis, as detailed in a report from The Telegraph. The 25 year old played 42 games in Blackburn's campaign last season as they just missed out on the play offs.

The centre midfielder has already been subject to a rejected bid from Millwall whom Blackburn defeated on the final day of the season to tarnish the Lions play-off qualification hopes in dramatic style.

Although Travis doesn't offer many goals and assists as he only picked up a combined 4 over the past season, he adds leadership and positional awareness to the midfield at Blackburn as he leads his side out.

Although Premier League football may tempt Travis, he may be reluctant to leave Blackburn as he is a homegrown talent, captains the side and will be fighting for a place in Luton's midfield against the likes of Pelly Ruddock, Jordan Clark and potentially Marvelous Nakamba, not to mention Luke Berry whom just signed a new deal. Travis may feel he has unfinished business at Blackburn as they narrowly missed out on the playoffs last season.

Likelihood: 3/5
